Student Volunteer of the Year
Students focused on volunteerism and social justice.
The Student Volunteer of the Year Award has been established to recognize outstanding volunteerism by a current student within the community and/or on campus.
The Award recipient will have made a significant contribution to the wider community and/or campus life through volunteering.
Eligibility Criteria
This award is given to a current WNMU student who has contributed to the community, both on and off campus.
The nominee must:
- Have been enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at WNMU for at least one academic year.
- Have dedicated a minimum of 30 hours or 15 individual volunteer events that enhanced the WNMU or regional community.
- Take initiative and be action-driven.
- Reflect a spirit of cooperation, leadership, and be an inspiration for others.
- Encourage others to get involved.
- Have pride in being a WNMU Mustang.
Application Procedure
Nominations may be submitted by WNMU students, staff, faculty, or community members.
Submit a written or video statement (maximum 500 words or a 2-minute video statement) that illustrates how the nominee exemplifies the above criteria.
The committee will notify the nominee that he/she has been nominated. Nominee must submit a list of dates and names of volunteers events for which he/she has participated during his/her time at WNMU.
Award Presentation
The Award recipient will be recognized at the annual WNMU Student Hall of Fame Induction. The 2020 ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 6 in Light Hall Theater.
Nominations are due April 15.
Award recipient will be notified on April 22.
